The earthy percussive rhythms on Tosca’s latest release are reinforced by warm full bass lines. Sparse voices and cool digital textures produce an urban sound scape. No Hassle is great music for rainy nights and that lazy day off from work. Written and produced by Vienna duo Rupert Huber and Richard Dorfmeister (of Kruder & Dorfmeister fame), all 12 tracks are engaging, making you move in some way- tapping, swaying and always fulfilled.  A lot of conscious thought was put into the organization of the tracks and its content. This is their fifth album since they began in the mid 90’s.

Here’s a video of the track “Springer”.

Boozoo Bajou/ Grains/ 9 Tracks/ K7 Records

Boozoo Bajou have mastered the art of blending music genres successfully mixing “electronica with blues, jazz, soul, latin and dub elements.” The German duo infuse live instruments with electronic music. They have worked with rappers Common (GOOD Music) and Oh No (Stones Throw) among other musicians from varied genres. Folk elements, a renewed love for good ole-fashioned song writing and vocalization permeate the tracks on . The appropriately titled album conveys the mood, while audible fresh air emanates from your speakers. Vocalist Sarah Joyce is featured and at times sounds like Tracey Thorn (Everything But The Girl) sprinkled with a dash of Sade- warm and…ooooh…
The album has an ambient downbeat feel, designed with electronic color on an acoustic canvas. Boozoo Bajou started making waves in the the late 90’s. They continue to stay busy doing production work and live shows.
